Back from Caorle

Just got back from my pre-season family seaside holiday in N. Italy. Sun, sea and... fun with the kids

The structure I'm standing on stuck out into the sea and then stopped. The question on my mind is - why is the water level on my right much higher than the water level on my left, when nothing was stopping it from covering the beach. Eh?
